Shaw's production department is housed in the oldest
part of the original Storths Mill. This was one of Huddersfield's
first purpose-built steam powered mills dating to 1826.
Shaws bought the premises in 1913.
Occupying the full 3 floors of the mill, formerly Shaw's
malt vinegar brewery, it is now fitted with hygienic
floors, walls and ceilings suitable for a modern food
factory.
Production is under the direct control of Matthew
and Daniel Shaw, with Matthew specifically responsible
for the planning, production and purchasing and Daniel
for technical aspects, product development and sales.
The requirements Individual customers can be formulated
in the test kitchen where new and exciting recipes are
created. Annual turnover is now in excess of £1m, including
exports to customers from USA to the Falkland Islands.
